Sitka, Alaska
Atop Baranof Castle Hill (I seem to have failed to take any pictures of the hill itself, oddly enough). The hill was named for Alexander Baranof and the opulent Chief Manager's house that stood upon the hill from 1837 to 1894. Baranov himself never lived there, however, since he died 18 years prior to its completion. The ceremony that passed control of Alaska to the US took place here.
Here we have a somewhat dark view of Sitka Sound as seen from the hill.
